Amanda Smith enjoys a varied mix of work by combining her career as a music educator with that of an arts manager.
Posts she has held include Orchestral Manager with the English Chamber Orchestra, Youth and Music Officer at South East Arts Association and Orchestra Manager of the European Union Youth Orchestra. Education posts include peripatetic woodwind teacher for Warwickshire & Solihull Education Authorities and positions at the Coventry School of Music, St Michael's School Otford, Kent College Pembury and Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School.
She studied clarinet with David Campbell and piano with Andrew Ball before post-graduate studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Whilst at Birmingham she studied clarinet with Martyn Davies of the CBSO, recorder with Alan Davis and piano with Beryl Chempin.
Amanda has been self employed since October 1988 and has extensive experience in the arts world with a broad network of established contacts.
